Default Nationalist Standpoint, Viewpoint And World Outlook

This is where the advocacy of FILIPINISM also comes in. For it to clarify, with firm conviction, that it is high time for the people to participate in a nationwide scale of rediscovering our identity, our capability, our ingenuity, our love of country that sparked the first social upheaval in Asia in the latter part of 19th century...

The nationalist standpoint, viewpoint and world outlook must have to be propagated and inculcated through education, through organization and through a national conscious discipline so as to free us from the shackles of poverty that still grips the social, cultural, political and economic way of life.

The late Dr. Jose P. Laurel always reiterated in every forum that Filipinos were the only ones who could stand for their own interest, no one else, clearly referring to the crusade against unjust and unfair impositions of a former colonizer that supplanted the Spanish rule. This is the economic aspect of our life as a people... On other matters, the erosion of our nationlaist standpoint, viewpoint and world outlook have begun during the early stages of of our political independence. Subsequent events that led to the establishment of the presidential form of government made no reference whatsoever to the need to internalize the remaining vestiges of patriotism spawned by the bloody struggle against the country's invaders and colonizers.

A commitment to what we already have, to all that we have possessed as our heritage, and a strong and unequivocal stand against the unjust impositions of other countries such as the United States and other members of the G-7 are the things that this nationalist ideology stands for. The real meaning of love of country depicts the willingness to forego material gains and the accoutrements of politcal power when the fundamental interest and aspiration of the people and the State as a sovereign entity not beholden to any alien power or political, cultural and economic influences. That the democratic ideology of FILIPINISM upholds the creativy of the people in hammering out their conception and practice of political theories and values should be a comprehensible proposition at this stage of our historical existence as a people. To this end, we leave this polemic way beyond the myopic outlook of barong-tagalog nationalist in our mids...

Default FILIPINISM, a reality or a dream?

What is there to discover? Talk about a child raped before she can even walk. We even shouted globalization before we can even grasp our own. A country shocked with different events and culture for over a century. How should we view what is happening in our country nowadays? Will we ever live to see FILIPINISM in our country? Should we discover ourselves or might as well reinvent it?

The answer lies to the product of our times just as we are the product of our parents and grandparents times.
