What We Missed
Im happy we have this Forum to discuss our ideas. Its very obvious only those who can afford internet will be able to mull over our ideas. Its also a given that these people are more educated and with better status in life than perhaps most of the population of the country. What the impact of these limited discussions on the Philippines, the merit is doubtful. I dont exactly know how much one spends in putting up a web page as this. To be pragmatic, it would be desirable to put up feeding centers or livelihood / income generating initiatives that really works. On the money spent on this webpage. If this webpage were done for free, would the kind guy also see to it that he can gather enough support for a national initiative not relying on government bureaucratic impairment to start self-help programs, assist people initiated programs to produce tangible outcomes on economy and production of goods to the benefit of the masang Pilipino? The government is a vague illusion, that is, a misgiving, rather than a solution. So who needs a government nowadays? They cause more problems than if there were none.
Granting that the situation is such, what do we do?
Since the government is of no specific utility, we cannot discount the fact that we as a people should help ourselves. (not help ourselves with the government coffers or with political or economic/ social advantage over others who are less endowed with vantage positions) We should HELP ourselves without waiting for the government to help us since they are the ones we should govern, not that they govern over us. WE HAVE LOOKED UP TO THE ADMINISTRATION AS A GOVERNMENT. They are different entities, we have unfortunately confused about. A government is of the people, by the people and for the people. The administration is an administerer, one who simply administers or who takes charge of, or tries to be (does it ?)
Therefore, we should not let them take over our lives, do what they want of do with it, waste it, make fools out of us or play hanky panky with us.
We should run our lives like there were no administration (or government if you like to call it). WE should govern ourselves, take charge of our future, and disallow others to manipulate us the way they want it.
Whatever we cook up, lets do it. Start programs that work. Initiate it, organize with others, network with friends and family, not wasting anytime on false hopes that "government" may be of help. That we blame the people up there if they fail us. (They actually feel they are productive if they produce more controversies and irregularities, they become more famous and therefore, it becomes a feather in their hat. What a fancy idea that could be! Please be orginal, man.)
But of course since we want to take charge of our lives, we should immediately stop the manipulating done on us, the mangling, the coercion for us to agree on what we will be sorry for later, the self-serving compromises.)
Lets take charge of our lives. Let us organize to do good, and do positive. But let us organize to be strong, to be a force to contend with, setting aside false pretenses and clandestine intentions. Let us do something that shall benefit not only us in the short term but all of us in the long term. If we have to speak and complain and insist, by all means do it with gusto and vigorously. Just be consistent and never waiver. This is a tough act. Just remember you simply want to do something good.
Times have become really hard for everyone. (Who doesnt? Then, please stand up and share your excessive blessings with the less fortunate or by starting livelihood or productivity programs.) Our social consciousness has been corrupted with faithlessness and selfishness. Despite all this let us cling to our one last hope - our faith in ourselves. That we MAKE our nation. That every single effort counts. That vigilance is the price of liberty. And that we cannot rely on what others can do for us, only what we can do for others in the spirit of service.
Enough of too much exhortations. Lets get our acts together for progress, for nation building, to fight corruption, to put forth progressive intiatives, to stand up for what is right and fight what is wrong. To speak up for the truth and never be afraid. To stand by our guiding principles in nationalism and with fear of the wrath of retribution from a merciful but just God.
We start with ourselves, but first get away from that so immaculate PC and get out there to work like you never did. Join up with your friends, like without it, there will be no tomorrow for all of us.
