Default New People Power Revolt?

GREETINGS FORUM MEMBERS,

THE LEADERSHIP OF THE CATHOLIC BISHOPS CONFERENCE OF THE PHILIPPINES IS ENDORSING A NEW PEOPLE POWER REVOLT TO OUST GMA. IS THIS A LEGITIMATE AND MORAL MANDATE OR JUST ANOTHER CONCESSION WITH THE OPPOSITION GROUP TO TOPPLE THE PRESENT ADMINISTRATION? WHO WILL BENIFIT FOR THIS UPRISING WHICH WOULD DRAG THE ORDINARY PEOPLE TO HOLD PROTEST MARCHES AND RISK LIFE AND LIMB JUST TO PUT ANOTHER POWER THIRSTY POLITICIAN IN POWER? THESE CLERGYMAN MUST REMEMBER THAT GMA IS A PRODUCT OF THE EDSA 2 PEOPLE POWER REVOLT THAT TOPLED ERAP AND BROUGHT THIS WORST POLITICIAN TO HOLD THE HIGHEST OFFICE IN THE LAND.

Default Oh Really

if I remember correctly, it is illegal for the Church to interfere in political issues, and vice-versa for the government to have any gainsay in Church matters.

Peace Out!

Angry Sick and tired of people power...

I complete understand why these so-called "rallyists" are doing the things that they do. But I think the things that they do isn't helping our country. Everytime someone is in the position, others will try to pull the person down. I mean I understand their griefs because as a Filipino I can feel it too. But these "power of the people" isn't helping us, IN ANY WAY. As in, it just make things worse! We don't know how to handle democracy. But the truth of the matter is the government can't handle everything. As a matter of fact the government CAN'T DO ANYTHING. In the end, it will still be up to US (individuals) kung paano tayo mamumuhay. We are great whinners! We talk a lot! And actually we ACT a lot too. But we choose to act in a manner na mas lalong nakakapagpabagsak ng bansa natin. The only time that our country will prosper is when people UNITES in a POSITIVE MANNER, not through rallies. God bless us all.

Wink Obligations

The positions of the church is legitimate because they have the obligation to strengthen the moral values of all the Filipinos. The church supported the installation of Gloria during the EDSA2 as they just like us also wanted a government that trully represent the needs of the majority masses and not by the few. We all must join and participate for the good governance by the people in power and this should always be our moral obligations for the future of our motherland and our childrens.

Default Curch

Yes, I think Jim is right...

On the church legitimate obligation. We back in our history, we cannot diny the fact that the church help us a lot to have a good government. The three priest martyrs, leads to the birth of nationalism. Who play a vital role in encouraging people during the EDSA I? The church. And since the church was also part of this, or should I say, citizens of this state, they have all the rights react on the anomaly that happened. The church has all the the right what the citizen possess is't it?
Now, why did they say that the church helped GMA on the previous election?
Did the they enough proof to judge the church?

Thumbs up church social participation

As we knew that a country can be stronger once the people are united in a common interest of the masses. Church is only a part of sectors in our society who has also an obligation to streghten the moral and spiritual fibers of the Filipinos as part of the heirarchy of values is concern. Sad to say, in our country moral issues is no longer concern and what is important is the interest of every individual in all sectors including people in church community as they sometimes being used by politicians to served their both interest. We must now stand and united for a true and genuine reforms or revolution in order to attain the long time dream of the future in our society that has a strong and true FILIPINO DEMOCRACY base in our own culture, traditions and beliefs and also to have a genuine freedom and justice. Dapat nating ituloy ang dakilang pangarap ng ating mga bayaning nagbuwis ng kanilang buhay upang makamit ang isang MALAYA, MAUNLAD AT TUNAY NA DEMOKRATIKONG BANSA HANGO SA ATING KULTURA, TRADISYON AT KASAYSAYAN AT HINDI HIRAM SA IBANG SISTEMA POLITIKAL AYON SA IBANG PANINIWALA. Let us now uphold FILIPINISM! Mabuhay ang Pilipino!

Default Uh huh

Yes yes melanie, on moral values that's right, but I have read the current constitution, and I checked again to confirm, and there is a law declaring that the church CANNOT and SHOULD NOT interfere in political issues, and might I remind you that the church in itself is INFESTED with corrupt priests? I should know, believe me!!!!!

CBCP?

Do most of us here as much as think that the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines can strengthen the moral fabric of our frail existence?

Leave them alone. The bishops are as immoral as anyone of us here. As an institution, they receive jueteng payolas. As an institution, they protect GMA. As an institution, they don't mean a thing to me.
