Default What will you do if GMA resigns or gets booted out?

Alarmists appear being able to read tale-tell signs of an imminent development - that GMA resigns or gets booted out. Is this a myth? A self-fulfilling prophecy by the opposition? Or, are there writings on the wall?

So if any of these actually happens, where will you be and just exactly, what will you do?

I just thought this would be a very interesting question that can be readily answered by any one entering this Philippine Forums' thing. And all answers will have to be considered correct in so far as these views - for or against - must be respected.

If you ask me, it would be best that GMA resigns as an act of supreme sacrifice to avert any resort to the use of the military and the police to quell people's violent clamor for change in the leadership that has been permanently stained by the Garci controversy.

But that is not to say that we have to bring back Erap to his crown. Nothing like that is possible given the fact that all social, legal, judicial, and constitutional configurations have been totally altered with developments.

If booted out, it is most certain that there will be a kind of situation where elements of the military protective of GMA will have to fight it out with the military protective of the people. Do we believe that a lot of people still support GMA when the question of legal mandate is already cast in clear and bad light?

Did not Nene Pimentel say it is just a matter of time? And Cory knows his political calculus that indeed, everything seems to be catching up for the queen to be shoved off the Palace. I am inclined to believe that whether GMA likes it or not, developments will follow the determined path of change - change for the better.

Default And then what?

The only thing saving GMA is that we have no one better to replace her with. God forbid, if it were up to the people, and a certain world champion boxer ran for the presidential position....

The problem was never the presidents, for they were only fleeting shadows of the real problem. No, the problem in itself lies in the people as a whole.

10 years from now, I do believe GMA will look like a saint compared to the then current president.

Yes, it will just get worse folks, because come election time, it's the people who vote, and the majority of the Philippines population is...well... "unwise" when it comes to voting for the most eligible person for a such and such position.

The cure? There is no cure. The Philippines is sinking, and that's that.

Reply to Moiraine:

Pacman will not become president, that would be the height of ignorance, indecency, and unthinking.

GMA will not be hailed a saint, not one day from now nor to eternity unless you begin to pay homage to her today and gather your own adherents.

Your pessimism is something isolated. You are the franchise holder of that pessimism and of course you can leave us alone.

Filipino voters are in fact wise, they get the money, and vote for the endorsed candidate. But that is entirely a different thing. It is nice to know that indeed we can give 20 million voters, P500 each. Do you really believe that? I don't.

There need not be a replacement to GMA, better or worse than she already is. Point is, she does not enjoy the people's mandate to lead. Don't bark up the wrong tree. I expect you to think better than that.

If the Philippines is sinking, it is just the ship of state where GMA and his incompetent ilk are on board. Let that ship sink in the Atlantis and pray no one survives.

So try to train your mind to think clearly and again, why despair?
