Default Our Muslim Brothers and Sisters in Mindanao

What can we do to establish a strong and honest relationship with our brothers and sisters in the South?

What can we offer to the indegineous people living in poverty?

Thumbs up peace among muslims and christians in suoth

To whom it may concern:

Greetings of Peace!

I just want to react on the image of us when we go to Luzon. I am Christian who lived here in Mindanao, in the part of Sultan kudarat.
I been went to Manila once, but many people think that I was a MNLF/MILF when the fuond out that I cae from Mindanao.

But I dont Mind. What I want to tell yuo is Mindanao is a peaceful place. There some encounter in some places, but not all. Please do not generalized to judge the place of Mindanao. Because indanao was a nice Place.

I am a resident of COLUMBIO SULTAN KUDARAT. Last Election y place became controbercial. But what I saw in the news they wanted to show that the problem is too worst. But it's not. Because that time I saw most muslims also wants peace. That's why they unite. Although in soe cases, there is misunderstanding between them. The proble is that the official was trying to manipulate there followers. That ends to misunderstanding. But this misunderstanding does'nt last.

Yesterday there was a ambush hapened somewhere in Datu Paglas. What are the reasons behind? I don't know. But kills numbers of person.

Default Terroristic Money making Philippine Media

This is a classic example of idiotic media trying to sell their story by exaggerating what is happening and in effect terrorizing not to exempt the international community.

Local Media feeds these news to the international scene. So what they feed is as good as it gets.

Philippine Media is free but then again since its business, you cannot say it's not bias, so it's for sale. For a TV station, Radio Station and Newspaper Companies to exist they must sell their story. So they need to sensationalize everything.

Do you think good news in the headlines ever sell?

Philippine Media are out there to sell and nothing else.

Maybe a neo journalist are still idealistic but they are employees of companies who wants revenues and nothing else.

Talk about corruption.

Default Not all media are corrupt

In response to Pilosopong Tasyo's comment on which he stated that "Philippine Media are out there to sell and nothing else.... Maybe a neo journalist are still idealistic but they are employees of companies who wants revenues and nothing else. Talk about corruption.".

Truth is Philippine media is a business that "sells" story BUT not the content of the story per se.

In fairness, and for your information, most of the local media covering in your area, specially in the provinces, are not employees of the companies where they send their stories. They are mere provincial correspondents who gets nothing but P15-25.00 per column inch (some are lucky to get P100.) for the story published.

In some instances, the publications or networks send their regular and six-digit-salary reporters to cover big news makers, including the Presidents's visits. In this case, local correspondents where "etchepweras."

Please distinguish local correspondents from news paper editors. Editors have the power to manipulate the titles- or even change the text or sensationalized the story- to catch the attention of the readers.

You should also classify reliable news papers (broadsheet or tabloids) like Inquirer, Balita, from not-so-reliable ones which not only sells sensationalized stories but also sensationalized pictures of almost nude starlets.

You cannot blame foreign media. To describe Philippines in their paper is to name Manila in the story. To specify where in the Philippines they say it in Mindanao. Not in Davao nor in Surigao.

Lastly, not all media are corrupt! You have to distinguish legitimate reporters from hao-shaou or AC-DC's (attack and collect-defend and collect) who you often see in the beer houses.

Even we almost get nothing from doing our responsilibities to you to be informed of what is happening in the remotest part of our country, even if telling you the anomalies in your local governments, even if doing these mean our lives, we are proud and dignified to be members of the media sector. Even as you dishonor us.
