We should but I don't think it's going to happen in our country. The question is how?

Everytime there's an election, candidates specially for the national positions are struggling to get the sympathy of large religious groups. What happens after the election is history.

Take note, the reason why the national government cannot implement population control is because of the catholic church stands.

What we need for the country is a change of heart. Let us pray hard for the healing of this nation and A STRONG, OBJECTIVE, AND GOD FEARING LEADER (but not to church-positioned leaders. Should listen to the Church-the people of this nation) If the government will just open His mind and heart to these people... we will not experience the crisis that we currently have at the moment.

I believe that this Constitutional provision on the separation of the church and the state should really be given attention and must be observed, practiced and implemented in our country. Whatever grounds our framers had in their mind in drafting this provision, i had confidence in their intention to put a good order in our political and social systems. After all, what matters most is our individual commitment to upheld the law and to give real meaning and substance to it. Not until we have done our part or contribution in whatever issues & matters that affects us can we say that a certain measure is not applicable or practicable. It really depends upon each one of us. As it has been said, our future is just in our hands. So why not give it a try to bloom into what it is supposed to achieve!

There is no problem when religious groups make known their stand of a certain issue but it should not be the basis of the decision of the government or the president.

We all know that our population has been increasing and the capability of the government to support the basic needs of the population is decreasing. We all know that the current population control system is not working. More children becomes uneducated, Squatters everywhere, increasing unemployment rate which results to criminal activities like robbery, kidnapping and drug trade.

The problem is, there is no turning back when the population booms. A child born today along with 100,000+ everyday will need basic education after 5 years and will marry after another 15 years and may give birth after the same year. Imagine the number of children undeducated for the next 15 years.

With the information on hand, should the religiuos group change their stand? I don't think so for what they know and teach does not conform with the current situation. They know that they are wrong but they won't admit it since going against the scriptures would mean going against what they teach and what people believe in.

So more fetus on the Church's front door every morning just like a morning newspaper.

Since time in memorial the issue about separation of the Church and the State have been rised. The Catholic Church through its "Liberation Theology" further stregntens the Church's role in our day to day lives. Gone are the days when the church only focuses more on the spiritual being of its members. The Church will not be silent anymore to the abuses done by our political leaders. The Church plays a major role in the development of our country's economy. Economic growth does not mean that we would let go of our values and morality. The Church will serve as our guide in achieving economic growth but wihout the expense of well-being as a "person". I guess people who often criticized the Church active involvement in our country's quest for economic growth are afraid of what history have taught us. The Church have already undergone reorganization for them not commit the same mistakes done by them in the past. Theocracy is indeed not an ideal form of government. History tells us that there ate abuses done by the Church leaders. Here in our country it happened during the Spanish colonial era. The Church today is different from the Church in the past. Past mistakes have been taken into account. This resulted to the creation of Vatican II, in which guides our Church leaders to increase their involvement in our country's affairs either on local or international. This is of course, guidance to do what is morally right to a certain issue at hand. Furthermore, our government has already lost to its people its confidence. If the Church will only focus on spiritual matters, where would we seek leadership and guidance to obtain sustainable development? To our politicians...?!
